Welcome to my blog!

Just doing my best over here to chronicle my chronic condition with alliteration, humor, and a whole lot of spoons!

An update on life

An update on life

Hi everyone! It's so good to see you here. I am writing my blogs now with dictation! Just look at my set up here, I've got a MacBook Pro, a Bluetooth keyboard that is single-handed and backlit, my adaptive mouse, my assistive bar for my hands to rest on, and my big ass monitor.

What to say… it's been a long pandemic that's for sure. I spent the better part of 2020 in a cast rehabbing my ankle because it broke in two places at the hospital where I went in for Pleurisy, and came out like that after a fall.😞 The rehab hospital was an experience in and of itself. I never want to go there again!! If I can avoid it, of course.

I spent a lot of time at the cabin. That was actually really nice. I got to do many of my hobbies, and I got to take advantage of the virtual appointments at my doctors and even attend some virtual events! As a disabled woman, this is a great thing! And I'm glad that they are still doing it even after the pandemic is *cough, cough* over-ish?

So fast forward to 2022. I'm painting a lot, and making greeting cards with my paintings. It's so much fun! If you want one or two please contact me with your address and I will gladly mail them to you! I am not selling them, I just do this for fun, so save your money lol.

I've learned that I'm really good at playing corn hole. I sat in my chair a few feet in in front of the marker, and use my left hand to shoot. Turns out, I have pretty good aim! We play left-handed because of my ataxia on the right side, so it's fair!

Cornhole at the cabin!

What else can I mention? Oh, my symptoms (and my latest MRI) are stable! I take that to mean that no new symptoms, and that they haven't gotten worse, or haven't gotten better. I have medicine and have tools to deal with every single symptom I have, for the most part. And for Taz, I am happy to say that it no longer runs my life. I can recover and have a good day afterwards. It takes me one and a half to two and a half hours, and usually I am a little groggy, but I am back to myself so much earlier than before.

So that about covers it!! I am still very housebound, but I'm not letting that stop me from doing my hobbies, and having a good life! And that's it, I hope you enjoyed reading!
